Dear Melvin Ashton

It was good to speak to you about your new UK online centre Outwood Computer Club. We’ll soon be adding your details to our centre search on our website at www.ukonlinecentres.com.  Once your details have been added, please check they are all correct.

Your Centre ID is 3453469. It’s really important that you remember this and ask all of your learners to use it when they’re signing up on Go ON www.go-on.co.uk  Using your Centre ID 3453469 will mean we are able to provide you with detailed information on your Go ON activity, as well as recognising your contribution to getting people online.

As a Partner UK online centre, you have committed to:

  • Offering free or low cost internet access along with the help and support people need to use it, and meet our Quality Promise to provide a friendly welcome, guidance on how to find and use public services and advice on what to do next.
  • Helping at least three people to get online using Go ON www.go-on.co.uk each month by helping them to sign up using your Centre ID 3453469.

There are also many benefits to being part of the UK online centres network:

  • Access and support in using our Go ON, which include Online basics to help learners get started with computers and the internet.
  • Inclusion in our national online centre search facility at www.ukonlinecentres.com
  • Access to free UK online centres training and tutor support resources.
  • The opportunity to apply for training grants of up to 1,000 for both staff and volunteers.
  • Free packs of marketing material.
  • The opportunity to take part in high profile national marketing events including a campaign with JobCentre Plus and Get online week.
  • The opportunity to apply for UK online centres funding.

I hope you’ll be able to start making the most of these benefits soon and we’ve provided you with easy steps to help you get started:

  1. Visit our Centre partners site:  This is a great portal full of resources especially for you. Your log in and password details will be the same as those you choose when you submitted your application form.   When you log in, you will see your personalised homepage, which will tell you how many Go ON registrations you have achieved each month so you can keep track of how many people you have helped to get online.
  2. If you want to claim for Online basics completions, you will first need to register your centre. To trigger a payment you need to achieve 3 completions per month.  You can find out more here Online basics grant.
  3. Check out our training: We run regular online training sessions to help you use our resources with learners. Our Go ON training will help you use the website with your learners.   Look at the available dates and sign up here. We’re also running ‘Making the most of Online basics’ sessions, which will help you to embed the course within the existing learner journey and making the most of the grant. Find out more here.
  4. Check out our courses on the Go ON website (www.go-on.co.uk). We’ve got lots of resources designed especially to help your learners get started with computers and the internet.

  6. Have a look at our marketing toolkitIt provides you with guides on how to make the most of marketing and PR to promote your centre, downloadable marketing materials and templates so you can create your own press releases. Our Marketing FAQs will answer any queries you might have.
