Yerseke today. Lots of interest from very nostalgic
fishermen who know and used to work on our boat !

Hi folks-all very well here. Totally finished in
Zandaam
and progressing gently south to eventually,
Gent for the winter. This past few days we travelled from
Arnhem,
Nimegen,
Ravenstein,
Lage Zwalowe,
Bruinisse,
Port Zelande, back to
Bruinisse and today from
Bruinisse to
Kortgene. Sat to
Midelburg the capital of Zeeland for long weekend. We are still
joined up with our Amsterdam buddies and their boat. weather is
perfect for now so enjoying the boat, which is running great. Beer
time now ta-ta R&M

are with Hans & Jennifer who are on hol with their boat in a
Centre Parks resort called
Port Zelande in Zeeland. Hoping to chill on deserted island for
a few days Sun onward. We plan to meander to
Yerseke where our boat worked until 1988 before heading to
Gent. We have provisionally booked a winter mooring there but if
the boat sells then plans will change. Brian had fun and he did
some of the driving to add to his CV.
Arnhem was all you would expect and the cemetery was very
humbling. So many young guys wasted and the significance for me was
it was in full flow on the day I was born. Action was 17-26 Sept,44
and many graves are dated 24th. Still, it is another off my to
do/see list so happy to have been.

Hi - Moved to Elburg for last weekend - a lovely walled
town with a moat. Then across the
Ijsslemeer to Urk. This was in a force 5 gale - pretty
scary but the boat handled well.
Urk is a nice place with lots to see.

Hi folks-as you know we had a voyage over 5 days and nights to
test us and the boat before setting off on a longer journey. All
went very well with no mishaps and learning how to get the best out
of the boat and bowthruster. our voyage took us to Harlem, Lisse,
Arlsmeer, Halfweg and back to Harlem before homing in to Zaandam. 1
lock (twice) went fine and the thruster has given Moya a more
confident approach to mooring now. We tested all the electrics and
equipment without any problems so are now planning to go north
through Friezeland, Assen and Groningen to the NW of Germany and
south before returning through Arnhem ( a Bridge too far) famous
true war film. We had a brilliant day Sat at the Zaandam floating
carnival. Check it out on
www.Zingenopdezaan.nl There were thousands of folk there with
music, food and of course booze all day long and sleep like a
fireside dog all evening. Back for more next year. We hope to
leave next week. R&M xxx
