222 (k)    kkk  (Ctrlk)
///  ( / ) and jjj ( j )

THREE characters to highlight the error.

Note: i test ok when typed, say, after # instead of between h and k but this is of no importance

 The keyboard scanning chip, (if separate to the processor), COULD be faulty but ......

I suspect a fault with the flexi ribbon cable from mother board to the keyboard

Anyone else had this, (or a similar), fault before I try and dismantle my laptop ?

I have a service manual and have previously changed a faulty hard drive, (and upgraded from 40GB to 80GB), I doubled the RAM capacity at the same time but .....

It is not easy with my current eyesight problems but - had to do it !  Check Here for keyboard
