Hi Mel, Best I could do Ernie, did you take the picture ? Mel 2nd April, 2010 Hi Mel,
Yes I did take the pictures on the 1 April 2010 at 06:45 and it
wasn't an April fools joke!!
At least I don't think it was someone dressed up as a moose!
Pam and I were sitting in our downstairs living room having a
cup of tea, I was facing the lake when I saw it come into view.
So I got the camera, went to the upstairs living / sitting room
and took the pictures. I think it was heading across to what is
known here as the "Big Island", actual name, Boyd Island. I do
know that Moose are up in Kinmount a small town 30 kilometers
north of here as I have seen a couple when I was renovating an
old lodge up on Galway road, Kinmount. There was this bloody
great Moose, walking along the middle of the road in front of
me, unconcerned that I was there, it walked about 200 meters,
then took of into the bush. I have asked around but nobody has
seen one this far south.
I do know that there are wolves on Boyd island as a few years
ago, on Christmas Day, we saw two very large wolves come across
from the island, on the ice, one went east, down the lake and
the other came up on our shore and walked right past our dining
room window. I didn't have a digital camera then hence no
pictures. It was a magnificent animal! Well fed!
Thanks for doing your best with the picture.
Hope you are all well.
Keep smiling, Ernie
Both - sorry three - OK. Trust you Pam & Family are OK, Chloe, June & Mel |
