Progressing SLOWLY ...... [
Facilities & Medication ] Swelling 'comes & goes' - pain 'comes & goes' - otherwise ok. |
Friday 15/05/09 |
June allowed home at 5:00pm. Ward staff said that she had worked very hard and had progressed much faster than ALL other ward patients ! |
Sunday 03/05/09 |
June had surgery and a metal pin was used to repair the damage which, according to the surgical team - was quite bad. When June 'came round' sufficiently she was relatively good considering the operation etc. She was not in constant pain but obviously had severe pain when attempting to move. |
Saturday 02/05/09 |
June tripped over her pyjama bottoms in the bedroom. I was just leaving the house with our Toy poodle pup Chloe under my arm and was intending to go to Leeds to pick up a birthday cake for my Sister Doreen's partner Tony's 80th birthday party the following day. LUCKILY I heard the crash and returned to find her on the floor, crying out in agony. It was obvious that June had a serious injury - leg / hip / pelvis and could not be moved so I called an ambulance immediately. The ambulance crew gave June gas-air to ease the pain and - with a struggle - got June onto a fold5ng ambulance chair, down the stars, onto a stretcher and into the ambulance. After the usual tests, we were taken to A&E at Pinderfields hospital. There she was given morphine to ease her pain and, fairly quickly, taken for an x-ray. The results showed TWO broken hip bones - she had hit her hip on the wooden foot of the bed. June returned to F Ward the 'Trauma' Ward.
