CASTAWAY  NOTES

BATHROOM:

Bath /Shower:  Shower Head / flexible hose pulls out for showers.  Take care when water VERY HOT from engine calorifier.  Use as little water as possible - conserves water AND is pumped out quicker.  The shower pump is very slow.  A filter in the outlet line can be accessed by removing the bath side panel (4 screws).  Unscrew the top filter housing (anti-clockwise), remove, clean & replace the gauze filter and screw the filter back carefully.  Check for correct operation / no leaks BEFORE replacing the bath side panel.

Pump Out Toilet:  Lever DOWN to dump (flush).  Bowl will automatically be supplied with a fresh water 'seal' but more can be added, if desired, by lifting the lever UP.  Use 'Toilet Blue' to keep toilet fresh and pump out when required.

Sink draining is relatively slow due to small 'fall' to the boat outlet level.

Aldi Gas Central Heating & Hot Water Supply Boiler: (Manual Available)
The Alde Gas Isolation Valve is accessed from the airing cupboard side panel (adjacent to the bath).
Serviced July, 2004 by Aldi.  The boiler is located in the airing cupboard.
To Ignite: Depress the control knob and hold down for a few seconds - the pilot flame should ignite and the thermocouple, when hot, will hold the gas supply on.
Turn the temperature control knob to the desired hot water temperature (say 5).  A 'thud' should be heard as the main burner ignites.  Inspection of pilot / main burner flame can be made through the viewing window.  The 'room' thermostat is located on the corridor wall; slide switch above for pump on / off and dial for desired room temperature (say 25 for day and 20 for night - lower if merely to prevent freezing in winter).  Note that the main burner will ignite - with a 'thud' - only when the boiler temperature is lower than the room temperature.
