Figure it Out - If you Can !

So ....

You had to request my solution ??

Let number = (say) 83

Subtracting second digit leaves 80 - i.e. 10 x first digit

Subtracting first digit leaves 72 i.e. 9 x first digit so .....

Resulting number must ALWAYS BE 9 x first digit:
9, 18, 27, 36, 45, 54, 63, 72, 81,
90 or 99

ALL these possibilities have the SAME prize.

The prize table is, of course, changed for successive games.

More Rigorous Solution .......

Let two digit number = n1n2 = 10*n1 + n2

Subtracting n2 = 10*n1

Subtracting n1 = 9n1

Hence, resulting number must ALWAYS BE 9 x first digit:
9, 18, 27, 36, 45, 54, 63, 72, 81,
90 or 99

ALL these possibilities have the SAME prize.

The prize table is, of course, changed for successive games.
