Connecting to the Marina Wireless Router
Unauthorised users will be permanently disconnected.
Search Wireless Internet Connections
Connect to: Rose and Crown Wireless Network Current
Security Code: To be determined
(case sensitive - XX characters
including X spaces)
Your computer should 'remember' the security code - if
the connection fails, contact Kate or Mel
for
a new code (initially free of charge).
Possible connection problems:
If your computer appears to connect to the wireless network but web
access cannot be established, try:
Right Click on the connection icon (taskbar bottom right computer
icon) select 'Repair' and await result. If problems still persist,
try:
Start / Run
Enter 'services.msc' and press 'OK'
Select 'Wireless Zero Configuration' (near bottom)
Startup Type: Select 'Automatic'
Service Status: Press 'Start'
Press 'OK' when started & close the 'Services' page.
This procedure MAY be required at each
connection session.
Note: WIFI channel changed from 1
(2412MHz) to 11 (2462MHz) 20/04/09
Please inform Mel if this creates any connection problems OR reduces the
WIFI signal strength.
Further Notes:
In order to aid security, anyone intending to use the wireless internet
connection should notify
Mel
of their requirements and computer name.
Ideally, it would be appreciated if the computer name is set to a
relevant boat name. e.g.
"Castaway" - see 'Conditions'.
This can be achieved via:
Start / Control Panel / System / Computer Name (tab) - enter desired
computer name,
then Restart your computer.
