17/12/08	Wednesday 08:30 am !! Cataract - Eye Pre-Operative Assessment Clinic Spectacles 'measured' & general health checks. Blood pressure high - consult doctor ? Blood tests ok (but show diabetes). Cataract op probably January.

Particle in my eye likely to be 'bit of jelly' rather than a stitch which I thought likely. No further comment made other than next appointment on Wed 19th March (+ more eye drops). Reduce from 4 to 3 / day then 3 to 2 / day after 1 week.

Eye Pre-Operative Assessment Clinic. To be seen by nurse and doctor who will fully assess whether fit for Vitrectomy operation. Medication info & spectacles required. Allow up to 4 hours (took about 1 hr).
19/12/07	Wednesday 1:50pm Mr WH Woon - Tel: 0113 2 064 615 Unit No. BA1202 PAS No. 3859746 NHS No. 438 264 7487Ms Bansel - Photographs + Laser Scans of both eyes: Gel is shrinking & twisting, pulling retina in the process. Vitrectomy operation requested - consent form signed. Local anaesthetic - no need to stay in hospital. Gel in eye to be removed (replaces naturally with fluid). Another patient informed me that his friend had the same treatment but included use of a 'gas bubble' in an attempt to 'smooth' the distorted retina.
