| Family & friends of a popular Stanley man, who died in a car
crash two years ago, celebrated his life on Sunday 13th January,
2008. Michael McDonagh, 24, of Shires Grove, died on January 14th,
2006. Two years on from his tragic death, his family and
friends from the Cheers pub gathered to raise a glass in his honour
from 2:00pm.
Mr McDonagh, an architectural technologist, was in the pool
league at Cheers. Since his death, a group of Mr Mcdonagh's
friends ran the Great North Run and raised more than £ 2,000 for
motor neurone disease, which his mum, Marie, suffers from.
Cheers landlady Yvonne Haymes said: "It's an opportunity to
celebrate his life".
